Morphological description:   The pharyngeal neuron (VL1) is a chemosensory neuron which projects from the pharynges to the ipsilateral side of the glomerulus VL1 of the antennal lobe via the accessory pharyngeal nerve. Glomerulus VL1 is also projected by the ORN (VL1), which innervates it from the coeloconic or the trichoid sensillum on the antenna.
