Description:  Area that includes all areas of the brain other than the optic lobe and the GNG. The cerebrum is often subdivided into protocerebrum, deutocerebrum (deuterocerebrum) and tritocerebrum reflecting embryonic neuromeres. Since it is difficult to find exact borders between these areas in the adult brain, neuropils in the lower classification are not categorized into any of them.
